This seminar by Dr. Rias van Wyk will explore experiences in technology foresight exercises over the past decade. It will focus on the changing requirement associated with the economic slowdown. It will review what we have learned about mental approach, analytical formats, and procedures for measurement.

Featured speaker:
 
Rias van Wyk is the Director of Technoscan Centre in Minnesota. The mission of the Centre is to advance technological acuity. It compiles and manages the Techno-trend Explorer’s Manual.
 
Dr. Van Wyk formerly held the William R. Sweatt Chair in Management of Technology at the University of Minnesota. He holds degrees from three universities, including a Master’s from Harvard focusing on science, technology and public policy. He is the author of Technology: A Unifying Code, and the Editor of Technoscan® Newsbriefs. He serves on the Management of Technology Accreditation Board (MOTAB).
 
In 2005 he received the Distinguished Achievement Award in Management of Technology, from the International Association for Management of Technology (IAMOT). In 2008 he was appointed to the Speaker Retainer Program of the CFA Institute, a global association of investment professionals. In 2009 he was appointed to the jury of the Globe Award for Sustainability Innovation, an initiative of the Swedish based Globe Forum.
